As Tanzania's retail sector continues to evolve, new developments are placing increasing emphasis on the overall customer journey, including parking. At Kunduchi Mall in Dar es Salaam, parking was conceived as an integral part of the overall destination experience.
Designed to serve shoppers, office workers, and residents alike, the new development required a future-ready parking infrastructure capable of handling high visitor volumes while delivering the convenience, security, and operational efficiency expected from a modern retail destination. To bring this vision to life, Kunduchi Mall partnered with Riana Group, HUB Parking Technology's exclusive partner in Kenya, and HUB Gulf to deploy a fully integrated ticketed parking system built around HUB Jupiter modular system and JMS management software.
The new parking ecosystem combines ticket-based access with digital technologies designed to simplify every stage of the parking journey. Visitors benefit from automated exit processes, flexible payment options – including integration with Selcom Pay, one of East Africa's leading digital payment platforms – and streamlined access for contract users through LPR technology. Every touchpoint has been designed to minimise friction for users and provide operators with real-time visibility and full control.
By bringing all parking processes into a single platform, JMS gives operators complete visibility over daily operations while enabling a seamless flow between access and payment services. This integrated structure not only simplifies management today but also ensures the system can adapt as the mall continues to grow and attract more visitors.
Rather than functioning as a standalone facility, parking has been integrated into the overall experience of the destination, supporting both operational efficiency and the expectations of a diverse and growing user base.
