LPI is used to collect and record license plate data from vehicles to give the Parking Facility Staff a better understanding of the parking habits of patrons. In parking access control, LPI is also specifically helpful in catching and stopping fraudulent practices.

How does LPI work?

Cyclically an operator drives around the parking facility capturing all the license plates in the LPI system, and relevant data are later uploaded to the facility computers. Data can be accessed to solve issues and keep the facility safe.

Why choosing LPI?

LPI prevents the use of lost, stolen and swapped tickets: the cashier can search into the LPI database for a record that can be used to check the patron’s parking history. If an identification failure is due to a missing entry record, the cashier can search the LPI database for a record that can be used to create the missing entry record. LPI also reduces the risk of human error, for instance with fee calculation by the cashier.

LPI enhances reporting and archiving capabilities and allows to easily troubleshooting errors and issues related to location inconsistency and identification failures.

It can also help locating a lost vehicle, since with the appropriate permissions any user can query the LPI database for a particular vehicle.

Moreover, it’s a password protected system to ensure data protection, that can be manually accessed to update data entries. For European countries, it is GDPR-compliant.

LPI ensures a safer parking facility, and is easy to install and manage for parking operators.
